squarespace-to-astro
A command-line migration tool that captures Squarespace content and assets and generates an editable Astro project.
2026
s2a probes and crawls Squarespace sites, imports optional WordPress XML exports, downloads hosted assets and generates an Astro project with content, layouts, local media and redirect mappings.
It supports public and browser-authenticated capture and can generate TinaCMS-enabled Astro sites for visual editing after migration. Generated sites remain starting points: navigation, layouts, asset choices and redirects must still be reviewed before deployment.
The currently published command-line release is v0.5.8. On macOS ARM and Linux x86-64, the published Homebrew entry point is brew install s2a after brew tap krahd/tap.
s2a migrate https://example.squarespace.com --astro-dir ./generated/example-site
The resulting site needs manual review. Commerce, memberships, events, forms and submitted messages are not automatically migrated. The user guide documents capture, authentication and the generated project. This very website is an example of a Squarespace-to-Astro migration, though its editorial work and final presentation were separate tasks.
