Temperamento

An executable-score language in which text, harmonic structure and MusicXML notation are connected by explicit translation rules and transposition-invariant program semantics.

2026–

Temperamento treats musical notation as an executable representation rather than as a visual rendering added after computation. Programs can be authored textually, translated into a constrained MusicXML score and recovered through a canonical text-score mapping.

The current implementation defines the restricted language boundary explicitly and validates score structure, timing, harmonic cells and computational note events. A paper describing its canonical translation and transposition invariance was accepted for IEEE URUCON 2026.
