Witness is the first of a series of collaborations between Architect and 3D artist Tobias Klein and me.

Witness is a video piece that situates itself in the very frontier between digital and physical realms. Starting from Klein's Slow Selfie: a 3D printed head created from MRI data and augmented with experimental crystal condensation, the head is subjected to a second augmentation: the MRI data is incorporated as a 3D model and is used to generate animated textures and lights that are projected back on to the 3D printed head. The result is then filmed and brought back to the digital realm, where the final footage is edited. 

The accompanying music was composed explicitly for the piece and further explores the theme.
