FingER: Strategies on the design of a 3D real time engine

Abstract

This paper presents FingER, a three-dimensional real-time engine, and discusses the architectural and implementation strategies used to balance rendering performance, extensibility, and interaction. It describes the organisation of the engine’s principal subsystems and the design decisions required to support real-time graphics applications while retaining a reusable software structure.
