Critical point, a composition for cello and computer
Abstract
This paper presents Critical Point, a composition for solo cello, interactive computer music, multichannel sound, and computer animation. During performance, the system records and transforms the cello through pitch shifting, delay, feedback, and stochastic variation while generating reactive graphics and video. The work explores coordinated autonomy between performer, sound processing, and visual media.
