A new iteration of YARMI

Abstract

This paper presents a new iteration of YARMI, an augmented-reality musical instrument that uses tracked physical objects as components of a spatial musical interface. The revision extends the original instrument’s interaction vocabulary and audiovisual feedback while preserving its central concern: enabling performers to construct and manipulate musical relationships through tangible, spatial action.
