Facing Interaction

Abstract

This paper presents a series of interactive artworks and prototypes investigating how biometric and emotional information might be communicated non-verbally to other people, to oneself, to objects, and across places or time. Using facial gesture as an expressive input, the works span aural, visual, and haptic channels and use interaction as a means of reflecting on communication, its poetry, and the self.
