Abstract
This paper proposes a theoretical framework for the political interpretation of new media art and interaction. It argues that sufficiently relevant cultural phenomena carry political positions, that human-computer interaction intersects an extensive phenomenological and sociopolitical corpus, and that neither design methodology nor technical practice can be ideologically neutral.
