Augmented Dèrive and City Visualisation

Abstract

This paper presents an ongoing research project that constructs new modes of interaction with the city through poetic real-time data visualisations. Drawing on the Situationist dérive, it proposes an alternative to conventional cartographic representation and argues that effective urban visualisation must incorporate the lived experience of the city rather than reducing it to abstract spatial data.
