Panel on Sonology: sonifying the conflict

Abstract

This panel examines experimental sound practices that extend the acoustic referent of conflict and produce cultural objects concerned with violence, displacement, and inequality. Five artist-researchers reflect on music, sound art, sound design, community practice, and technological production in contexts marked by social conflict, including the conditions of musical-instrument construction in the geopolitical periphery.
