Awkward Consequence

Abstract

This paper presents Awkward Consequence, a large-scale virtual-reality performance that explores and expands the limits of audiovisual performance and the aesthetics of virtual reality. Using mobile phones, cardboard-style viewers, and a centrally controlled architecture, it immerses the audience in a journey that is simultaneously individual and shared. By joining musical performance with virtual reality, the work investigates the medium’s future role while exploring its artistic possibilities.
