Extraordinary Accident: An Immersive Metaphor of Hong Kong
Abstract
This paper presents Extraordinary Accident, an immersive experience exploring how different levels of abstraction can coexist in the representation and recreation of urban space. Using Hong Kong as both inspiration and data source, the work combines poetic representations at different temporal and perceptual scales to move virtual reality beyond its recreational conventions and contribute to a more intimate understanding of urban experience.
