Exploring Biopolitics Through Design Fiction,
Abstract
This paper explores biopolitics through design fiction by constructing speculative technological systems concerned with genetic surveillance, bodily classification, and institutional power. It uses fictional artefacts and scenarios to examine how emerging biotechnologies may normalise the capture, interpretation, and governance of biological information, and how design can make those political assumptions available for critique.
