Output Interface, Clause Order, and Inference Budget in State-Conditioned Action Selection across Tuteo and Rioplatense Voseo

Abstract

This study tests how the required output interface, clause order and inference budget affect executable decisions by language-model agents. In a binary-policy experiment, direct command generation showed strong dependence on which clause appeared first; explicit deliberation greatly reduced that effect. Increasing the inference budget chiefly resolved truncated responses. A controlled comparison of tuteo and Rioplatense voseo shows why apparent language differences must be interpreted in relation to the generation and scoring protocol.
