Facial reactions Study
This work explores several topics that I am interested in: the development of instruments for visual performance, the relationship between visuals and sound / music, as well as exploring non-verbal communication: what new modes of communicating one emotional state can be created?
In this project, I recorded several facial expressions, and explored different subdivisions and different mappings with the sound. I simply assigned the intensity of different FFT bands to different parts of the face. This mapping can be changed dynamically, turning the software into an instrument.
Programmed using Processing.
Study on sound-driven facial expressions.
This work is part of a series of studies that explore non-verbal communication of emotions and mental states.
In this project, I recorded several facial expressions, and explored different subdivisions and different mappings with the sound. I simply dynamically assigned the intensity of different FFT bands to different parts of the face.
