Barcelona
Abstract
Barcelona is an interactive installation built as a two-metre Pentakis dodecahedron whose edges are independently illuminated with LED strips. It responds to movement and sound in its surroundings and to remote participants through web and mobile interfaces, while also serving as a multi-user audiovisual performance instrument. The work uses media appropriation to examine the relation between DIY practice, state-of-the-art technology, and distributed authorship.
