(or the Harris–Trump debate as seen from the third world)

This is an automatic summarisation of Kamala Harris's and Donald Trump's 2024 presidential debate, where I extracted the passages in which they presented their ideas and projects aiming to improve American foreign policy and its impact on the world.

In particular, they described their plans to diminish their negative impact on third-world countries, to reduce inequality, as well as their strategies to make long-overdue amends.

Technical details

The video was automatically segmented. I used librosa to detect voices, and then deleted all segments in which a speaking voice was detected.

Still, some sentences were not detected. However, instead of fixing it—it was just a matter of adjusting a couple of parameters—I decided to leave those words in. I believe that the final video is improved by the random appearance of incomplete sentences, which end up highlighting even more the vacuity of the media performance.
